Position Responsibilities
- Operates press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to blueprints and templates.
- Sets up press brake tooling and programs machine controls for various bend sequences and material types.
- Loads and positions sheet metal into the press brake by hand or by using an overhead crane.
- Adjusts machine settings to accommodate material thickness, bend angles, and part dimensions.
- Performs quality checks using measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures) to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Understanding of different material properties and potential machine limitations.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work alone.
- Knowledge of rigging.
- May operate other machines (saws, rolls, etc.)
- Other sheet metal shop duties as assigned by shop foremen.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- No experience is necessary, but familiarity in a metal fabrication environment is a plus.
- Willing to train.
- Variety of shifts available:
- 1st shift: Monday – Thursday 5:00am until 3:30pm
- 2nd shift: Monday – Thursday 3:30pm until 1:30am
