Job Title: Project Manager
Reports To: VP of Design & Communications
Status: On-Site, Full Time, Salaried Exempt
Salary and Benefits: Annual salary range between $42,000-$52,000/year. Full-time benefits include 3.75 hours of PTO and 3 hours of Care/Sick time earned per biweekly pay period, 4 paid holidays, Health Insurance (75% paid by museum for employee, 50% paid by museum for qualifying dependents), short/long term disability, life insurance, and Simple IRA with 3% match. At the beginning of the year (January 2026), 3 floating holidays are earned as well.
Summary: The Project Manager will oversee all facility and fabrication projects for one of the largest children’s museums in the state. This role involves leading a growing Facility & Fabrication team, coordinating the efforts of internal staff members and volunteers, as well as collaborating with external contractors and vendors. The goal is to ensure efficient operations, making every project an exciting and impactful experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all facility and fabrication projects, including external contractors and vendors, to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
- Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures that ensure the efficient operation of all physical assets.
- Lead the implementation of the organization’s exhibit and facilities master plans
- Oversee building maintenance, upkeep, and daily operation of our facility and exhibits
- Lead the Facility & Fabrication team to achieve departmental objectives effectively
- Ensure all facility and fabrication projects meet safety, accessibility, and quality standards
- Other duties as assigned
Core Competencies & Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience managing facility projects, fabrication, and contractors is a plus
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment
- Ability to assist with physical projects including lifting and moving
- Available for occasional evenings or weekends as needed
