Celebrate the Reopening of the Barlow Planetarium at Family Astronomy Day

Don’t miss this immersive, family-friendly celebration on Saturday, Sept. 27 featuring free activities, telescope viewing and six planetarium shows under one dome

Winnebago County’s Barlow Planetarium, sharing the wonders of the universe as Wisconsin’s first major planetarium, in partnership with NEWSTAR, is inviting the Northeast Wisconsin community to celebrate its reopening by attending its special Family Astronomy Day on Saturday, Sept. 27. This family-friendly event promises a day filled with exploration, discovery and fun for all ages.

 

Families can enjoy activities, exhibits and telescope viewing for free, along with a schedule of exciting star and laser music shows available for purchase, including a Taylor Swift Laser Show.

 

Event Highlights:

·         Astrophotography: Explore the wonders of the universe and marvel at stunning images of celestial objects captured by talented astrophotographers, showcasing the beauty of the night sky.

·         Free Hands-On, Interactive Activities: Create lunar and Martian craters, experience a black hole simulation, capture pictures at a selfie station and more.

·         Free Telescope Viewing (6:30–9:30 p.m.): Peer into the cosmos with lunar and solar telescopes.

·         Planetarium Shows:

·         1:00 p.m. | Lifestyles of the Stars (Children’s Astronomy Show)

·         2:30 p.m. | Taylor Swift (Family Laser Music Show)

·         4:00 p.m. | Space Aliens (Feature Astronomy Show)

·         6:00 p.m. | Lifestyles of the Stars (Children’s Astronomy Show)

·         7:30 p.m. | Space Aliens Feature (Feature Astronomy Show)

·         9:00 p.m. | Pink Floyd Double Feature (Laser Music Show)
