UW-Oshkosh has coordinated with the City of Oshkosh and area law enforcement agencies in preparation for a weekend commonly associated with increased gatherings in the city. The University does not organize, supervise, or sponsor these off-campus gatherings.
UW-Oshkosh Police is prepared and will continue coordinating with the Oshkosh Police Department and other participating agencies over the coming weekend.
“Our focus is on being present, coordinating closely with our partners and remaining accessible to students and community members,” UW-Oshkosh Police Chief Chris Tarmann said. “Working together allows us to share resources, respond to concerns as they arise and support a safe and positive environment for our students and the broader community.”
“This is a shared effort focused on preparedness, visibility and the safety of the entire Oshkosh community,” said Oshkosh Chief of Police Dean Smith. “The strong coordination among our local and regional partners helps us put the right resources in place and respond effectively when we need to.”
Students, community members, and visitors should plan transportation in advance, avoid impaired driving, and avoid escalating conflicts. Visitors are expected to respect the people, property, and neighborhoods of Oshkosh. Unlawful or disruptive behavior may result in law enforcement action.
